A shallow look at the inconceivable deepness that is Me

This has been sitting on top of the doorway in my bathroom for about eight months:

A closer look:

Why is it sitting up there? Simple. I put it there. I was keeping it from eager little boy hands, who love nothing more than to suck on them for two seconds and then HOLD THEM with a very tight grip - all the while getting The Stickies on everything within a three mile radius. They were my Specials (the only thing that got rid of first-trimester Yucky Mouth), and I didn't feel like sharing.

They have not moved since I put them there.

I have not eaten a single one since I put them there.

I have not forgotten that I put them there.

They are, simply, There.

I should probably do something about it.

Maybe.

But mostlyprobably NOT.

(Eight months and counting ....)

Ahah - Now that I know where they are...you shall never see them again! :)

I had wondered about that...

They are there so you can smile every time you look at them.
Someday you'll miss the sticky hands all over everything.
Not for awhile, but you will. When your kids are wrecking cars and going to prom, that's when it will hit. :)

My mom and I made curtains for my living room. Seven -- no, almost eight -- years ago. We pinned them and then hung them to make sure they were the right length.

And never took them down.

That's right. My curtains have been pinned onto the rod above the window for EIGHT YEARS.

I think I win.

Pretty soon the kids'll just think it's a decoration. I think it's awesome. Let's see how long you can keep it there. 'Till you're preganant again maybe? That'd be a good story.

I just looked and it is still there! Do you think she will notice if I take it down? :-)

Ok - that last comment was me - MommaDJ5 - not that girl. Not sure why it is logging under her name except that I am on her computer, not mine. I am so technologically impaired....

Inkmom, I have PAPER window shades up, which have also been there for eight years.

And Bec, I love that you kept them over your bathroom door! Isn't it great that we all have higher priorities than taking a little can of treats off the door frame? Like blogging?

When we were kids we would hide my mom's cigs on the door frames. :)

That is so funny. And InkMom too. lol When my mom came to visit me in N.D., we had an unusual summer with TONS of moths. So gross when I think about it. Anyways, she killed one for me that was above the bathroom door. She beat it to death and it was plastered on the wall until it came time to move about 8 months later. If she only knew what a terrible housekeeper I am . . .

P.S. I'll have to give those treats a try when I experience that same first-trimester Yucky Mouth that I know oh-too-well.

P.P.S. I'm sure if it were my home, my oldest would've thrown things at it to make it fall. My four year old would've likely stacked boxes to try to get it.

I would like a secret hiding place for myself that works as well as those Life Saver sours. Someplace that is unreachable to little hands when I just need that minute or two of recharging time.
In the meantime, maybe I'll just get myself some Sours for recharging purposes.

It makes me feel better that my Halloween bowl--the creepy black and orange thing with spiders and skeletons on it--is still sitting on top of my fridge, complete with the undesirable candy in it. Since Halloween. But that's only 6 months.

You win.

Or wait. InkMom wins.
