In which I mean business

I'm not a good email-writer-back-erer. Besides my mother and my husband, it usually takes me a good week (okay. month) to click that "reply" button. The longer the email, the longer it takes me to write back.

I'm not sure why.

Is it because I don't want to look too desperate? As if, heaven forbid, I check my email three times a day? (Okay. Ten.)

This is dumb. Emphasis on the dumB.

And it's going to stop.

This is not a New Year's Resolution. This is a New ME Resolution. I will write people back at my earliest convenience. My inbox will no longer be a to-do list a mile long that fills me with guilt. (Ack! Is she still on there? Now it's almost too late to write her back ... how embarrassing ....)

I will press forward, constant and courageous, tenaciously clicking REPLY in response to inquiries, newsy updates and hi-how-are-yas, boldly going where That Girl has not gone before. YES. I will return that very affection that makes me check my email three ten times a day. Because I love my friends.

And I want them to keep emailing me.

Good for you! I seriously never wait to respond. Sometimes, I'll respond literally minutes after someone rights, and if I'm lucky, they'll email me right back cause they're still on their computer. I'm not on my computer all day, but if I got a minute, I'll respond.

I'm bad at emailing as well. Especially comments from my blog. For the longest time I didn't realize that people actually did this! And even now that I know it I still don't do it enough....

It depends on the email. If I have to reply to something important, I usually wait a day. If it's fluff, I respond immediately. Makes perfect sense.

Has anyone told you lately that you are adorable?

Friends are good. Forwards are good. :o) I'm scared of my family not all making it to the celestial kingdom, too.

Some times I get email-writer-back-erer's block. True story! I end up replying long after friends have forgotten that they emailed me the best peanut butter cookie recipe ever recipe, so my reply of,

"Yummy,

Love ya,
Boy Mom"

Three months later, is at very least confusing maybe even a bit naughty.

Go forth with courage That Girl, your example could inspire millions.

I'm exactly the same, and was much worse during pregnancy. I think if you just remember that you don't have to write a long response or remark on everything the person said it's so much easier! I tried doing short responses for a while and it was great. Time to start doing that again!

Ooohhhh -- I just might have to test your conviction here... just maybe.

It almost makes you long for the letters-in-the-mail days, doesn't it? It's just so easy for anyone to rattle off a quick email that somehow, like you, I end up with 43 of them in my inbox when my own rattling abilities are nil.

Good luck.

I love my emails. They are like a little present in my inbox.

I've been making a conscious effort to do the exact same thing. It feels SO good. Especially after having been so bad for so long. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

I am the same as you. Even if it comes while I am sitting at my computer (especially if it comes while I am sitting at my computer...that desperation factor I guess), I will not reply for far too long.

Great goal. I will copy you.

Make sure and hit forward for all of those really obnoxious email chains. People love those.

I just love your blog. You say what people think but don't have the guts to say. :P

I gotta stop all of the facebook emails I get as updates. It's killing me. You are awesome.

Have I told you lately that I love you...?

If not, I might just shoot you an email :)

I need to copy and paste this on my blog. And as my email signature. And possibly make a t-shirt and matching bag out of it. I'm terrible at it. Especially if it's going to be a long personal email to a friend or if I'm worried that the other person will think I'm a total dork. Pressure emails.

Also, about CBC....I feel the same way. But it's so close to me I don't have a good excuse. People keep asking me if I'm going, but I don't have a "girl pack" to go with. **sigh**

I also frequently chicken out of Relief Society nights. Yep, I'm cool.

Ditto, I'm quite the same, but I've tried to be better, too. Especially with emailing my many sisters.
The result?
I just sent an email to my little sister that ended with an explanation to all the misspelled words and crazy randomness: I'd had to pee the whole time. LIKE CRAZY!!! But I was dedicated! Huah! I did it! I replied!
So rewarding.
I think I broke the toilet seat when I finally landed.
