Looking AWESOME, those cupboards and stuff!! My in-laws are coming tomorrow to stay with the kids for a week while we go to the temple and my kitchen (and bathroom) cupboards have been in desperate need of an overhaul (since waaaay before Spencer was born!) so I've been doing the same yesterday and today.
Your deep-cleaning looks awesome! I'm convinced it's not possible to have the whole house clean at the same time. There's always some destruction going on while the good is happening.
I say, if you have a perfect clean home, you aren't spending enough time with the kids. If your home is a complete mess, you are not spending enough time on your home. A little here and a little there is just right! Good Job!
This happens to me too- it works better when you "lay the foundation" before deep cleaning, but doesn't always happen that way : ) Your pantry looks amazing!
Oh wow...that is my life, my house. Well, except mine isn't half so pretty. I've been focusing on organizing things so they won't GET so messy in the first place, but the rest of the house falls apart whenever I tackle a big project. Drives me MENTAL.
What is it about us that makes us do things this way? My husband is really good at cleaning fast and making the public areas look better; he says he learned it as a teenager in those minutes between when he heard the garage door and his parents walk in.
Uhm...you have a great house. And those bats on the wall still make me smile.
just put pilgrim hats on 'em! Then Christmas hats! Leave 'em up 'til January!
Right now I can manage about 2.5 chores per day. So my house hasn't been completely clean for a while. If I have a Saturday where I'm not home all day cleaning? Things pile up and It's hopeless until the next full Saturday devoted to cleaning.
When I saw that picture of your kitchen, I wanted to hug you. Seriously, it almost made me cry because I've been quite angry at myself today for things I've neglected and it felt so nice to not be alone in that.
I love you for posting those pics. Seriously love you. Because it gives me hope that if an incredible mom like you could let that happen, then there is still hope for me!
Most days I feel like even though I'm cleaning and organizing...the house will just never be 'DONE'. There is always some project waiting to be tackled. Your pictures are refreshing. And my house currently looks exactly like yours. I'm not even cleaning it. Instead I'm commenting your blog. Much better use of my time. =)
I know I don't "know" you, and we've only even exchanged a couple of emails--but this post and the one before it make me feel as though we are kindred spirits. I love these posts.
I struggle to keep the house clean even now, and it's just Dave and I! Don't worry about it too much, it will get cleaned eventually. It will drive you nuts until it does ;)

It's not messier. It's lived in. It's home. And now it's organized.

Because you have "help". Look at the glass is half full and focus on what you have done :).
