In which I hope my kids remember days like this

It rained yesterday.

Clearly, this meant yesterday was an Occasion.

(It's Arizona. It doesn't rain much here.)

(Plus, I was doing laundry anyway.)

So I pulled out our boots, hats and coats, and we went

puddle jumping.

Too soon the puddles ran dry, so it was necessary to bring out the hose and refill them. And display an exhibition on Being Two.

And then we jumped. and jumped. and jumped some more.

It was a wonderful, perfect, puddle-jumping kind of day.

...

So why don't my kids remember days like this, and instead have to remind me constantly of the time (three years ago) when I screamed at them for jabbing my wood table with forks?!

Way to go, Mom...sounds like an awesome day...of course, no puddles here, just ice!

Oh how cool, you are such a fun mommy. You may even inspire me to be a little more relaxed with my kids and let them play outside and come in with dirty wet cloths. Just maybe...

so true,so true. I love when we have a super fun family day of everything their little hearts want. Then we come home and within 20 minutes tell me they are so bored....sigh! I wish I could say I was a better child but we used to remind my mom of the one time she lost and smashed a bunch of toys...now I completely understand why she lost it. But back then we just thought wow, mom is crazy! :)

Wow, so you own coats and boots in Arizona?? I thought it was all bathing suits and flip flops!
